Kardameshwar Mahadeva Temple is located at the outer-skirt of the city about 5–6 km from Banaras Hindu University Main Gate. The temple is surrounded by a beautiful pond. Kardameshwar Mahadeva Temple is situated in Kandwa. Kandwa is a census town in Varanasi district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is believed that Lord Shiva's first steps in Varanasi were in Kandwa.
