The International society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was founded by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1966 & since then the movement has spread globally with over 500 temples and around 2,50,000 devotees. The objective of the society is to promote well being of the society through teachings of Lord Krishna as envisaged in Bhagwat Geeta & other ancient Vedic scriptures of India. The Temple located in Varanasi is one of the temples of the society. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna & accommodation facility for members/devotees is provided by the temple, Janmashtami is celebrated in a big way here.
